What’s the difference between organic and natural skin care?2021-10-01T10:29:29-07:00

Organic Skin Care

The term ‘organic’ refers to how an ingredient was farmed – it must be prepared and grown without pesticides, chemical fertilizers, growth hormones or antibiotics. The use of the word organic on beauty products is highly regulated, in fact skin care products are only allowed to use the words organic on the front of the label is if the product is over 95% organic.

Our skin is a living, breathing organ, the largest in the body. Much of what we put on our skin is absorbed into our body. Which is why we highly recommend organic skin care.

Natural Skin Care

A ‘natural’ ingredient is considered to be anything that’s a plant, mineral or animal by-product. However, because natural products – or those claiming to be natural – aren’t regulated by any governing body, brands can use the word natural on their packaging purely as a marketing ploy. This means a product that contains a handful of natural skin care ingredients can claim it’s natural, despite the addition of synthetic ingredients.

The fail-safe way of checking this is to turn the bottle around or upside-down and read the ingredients list. Ingredients are listed in order of percentage from highest to lowest, so if you’re trying to limit synthetic ingredients, make sure they’re always listed towards the bottom. However, don’t let the scientific names of natural skin care ingredients fool you into thinking they’re actually synthetic. Ingredients like Potassium Sorbate – a natural preservative – often sound synthetic, but this particular one is actually produced naturally in a number of plants. A little research will clear up any queries, though.

Are your products acne safe?2021-10-01T10:29:29-07:00

Are your products Non-GMO?2021-10-01T10:29:29-07:00

Yes, in fact GMO’s are not allowed in organic farming at all!

How do I get the best results from my products?2021-10-01T10:29:29-07:00

A major difference between people who get great results from their skin care products and those who don’t, is how well they rub them into their skin. It is essential to be extremely gentle when applying skin care products to the face. Try using a gentle upward massaging motion to help the actives fully penetrate the pores without stretching or pulling the skin.

Should I get multiple products?2021-10-01T10:29:29-07:00

Our products are beautifully designed to be used in conjunction with each other. Coupling a few products together will bring the best results.
